Hillside (HNA) is one of 94 City-recognized neighborhood associations within the City of Portland. Each neighborhood association serves a geographic neighborhood boundary. City Code chapter 3.96 creates a framework by which the people of the City of Portland may effectively participate in civic affairs and work to improve the livability and character of their neighborhoods and the City.
HNA is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Its volunteer, member-driven purposes are to consider and act on issues that affect the livability and quality of the neighborhood, and provide an open process by which all members may involve themselves in the affairs of the neighborhood.
Join the Association
Anyone who lives in the Hillside Neighborhood (
see map) can be a member. All residents are encouraged to attend board meetings, and especially general membership meetings.
To become a member of HNA (and have full voting rights) one must enroll through District 4 Coalition (D4C). Portland neighborhoods are grouped into four neighborhood districts. D4C is the nonprofit district coalition office representing 32 Neighborhood Associations located in NW, SW, and SE Portland.

NOTE: HNA member enrollment through D4C is different from subscribing to HNA Watch and News newsletters. To sign up to receive newsletters, please complete this form. Subscribing to HNA newsletters does not constitute member status and its associated benefits.
The HNA board meets on the fourth (4th) Tuesday-of-the-month at 7:00 p.m. at the Hillside Community Center, 653 NW Culpepper Ter.
Check out the District 4 Coalition Calendar for future meeting dates and other events.
